Client:Forte Energy NL
Location:Guinea, West Africa
Programme:Two years
Amco Drilling have recently been engaged in the provision of drilling services to Forte Energy NL in support of their two year Uranium exploration programme at the Firawa and Bohoduo concessions in Guinea West Africa.
The first phase of the exploration drilling programme at Firawa was successfully completed in mid 2007 and involved a total of 1800 metres of reverse circulation and diamond core drilling utilising a wheel mounted Mustang 66 Multipurpose Drilling Rig. The second phase of the exploration programme was undertaken during 2008 utilising diamond core drilling to combat previously encountered difficulties with Lateritic clays. The 5,850 metres of drilling was undertaken using a Mustang 66 Multipurpose Drilling Rig and a track mounted Diamec 282 Core Rig.
Work on the first stage of the exploration drilling programme at the Bohoduo concession was also successfully undertaken during 2008 and consisted of 1000 metres of reverse circulation and core drilling.
The onsite drilling teams, plant and equipment were serviced and supported throughout the course of the project by the extensive maintenance and stores resources at our Siguiri base in Guinea.
